Frigidaire oven repair, from F10 to the door lock
On a Frigidaire stone-baked pizza oven, F10 can mean nothing more than a Pizza Shield on the wrong rack. Frigidaire wants the shield in position 7, then a reset and a fresh pizza preheat.

Why does a Frigidaire Air Fry oven smoke or bake unevenly?
Usually something is sitting on the oven floor. Frigidaire says the convection element in its Air Fry ranges runs at more than double the power of a regular one, and that air has to move freely. So nothing goes on the bottom: no foil, no liner, no pan. A baking sheet a rack or two under the Air Fry Tray catches crumbs instead. Air Fry is a single-rack mode; convection handles several racks. If the floor is clear and the smoke or uneven heat continues, the element or fan needs a look.
Frigidaire range codes and what to try first
These are the labels Frigidaire publishes for its electric ranges. Most call for the same owner step first: power off for up to 30 seconds.
| Code | Frigidaire label | What it points to | Try first | If it returns |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| F10 | Thermal runaway | The oven is reading more heat than it should | Switch it off and let it cool; on a pizza oven, check the shield is on rack 7 | Sensor, control or relay check |
| F30, F31 | Open probe, shorted probe | The temperature probe circuit reads open or shorted | Cut power for up to 30 seconds | Probe and wiring test |
| F90 to F94 | Door lock issue | The lock motor or switch did not do what the control asked | Press UNLOCK and follow the on-screen code, then a power reset | Lock assembly check |
| F40, F41 | Cooktop lock out | The control has locked the cooktop side | Power reset at the plug or breaker | Control diagnosis |
| F1, F3, F20, F26 | Shorted key pad; communication error | A stuck key, or boards not talking to each other | Power reset | Keypad or board work |
Frigidaire oven faults we see most
Some of these are settings or habits, and Frigidaire's own support pages say so. The rest are parts. Here is how to tell the two apart before you book.
Door stays locked
After Self Clean the door unlocks only once the oven has cooled. Still locked when cold points to the lock.
d-O on Steam Clean
The door was opened mid-cycle, so the water never got hot enough. Restart with the door shut.
Runs hot
Give it a full preheat, empty, door closed. Still hot after bakeware and rack checks means calibration or a sensor.
Cuts out, then resumes
Some Frigidaire electric ranges have a safety thermostat that kills power on overheating and restarts once things cool.
Oven light dead
The bulb sits behind a glass shield at the back and needs a heat-rated lamp. Handle it with a cloth.
Rusty drip bowls
Frigidaire itself names salt air in seaside homes as a cause of pitted bowls on coil ranges.
