Electrolux oven repair and diagnosis

An Electrolux wall oven that bakes a little hot or cool may need no part at all. In the older built-in guide, the UPO page of User Preferences shifts oven temperature by up to 35°F either way.

What to do when an Electrolux oven shows an F code

1

Cancel

An F code means the control has detected a fault. Press Cancel and set the cook again.

2

Note it

If the F code returns, write down the number that follows it. That number is what narrows the fault.

3

Find plate

Open the door and read the serial plate on the side trim inside the oven. Photograph it if you can.

4

Book it

Send the code, model and serial when you book, so the visit starts with the right part in mind.

Electrolux oven modes and their heat windows

A mode that will not reach a setting outside its window is not broken. These limits come from the Electrolux built-in wall oven guide.

Convection on Electrolux

Why does an Electrolux convection oven read 25 degrees low?

Because Convection Convert subtracts 25°F from the recipe on purpose. Owners sometimes book a repair for that. Rack position matters too. During convection preheat, all three elements and the fan cycle, and the guide sets one rack at position 3 or 4, two racks at 2 and 6, and three at 1, 4 and 7. Load it differently and the bake comes out uneven, which looks like a weak element. If the pattern holds with the racks right, that is the time to test the convection element and fan.

Settings and cycles

Lite runs 2 hours, Medium 3 hours and Heavy 4 hours on the built-in wall oven.
As shipped, it turns itself off when left on longer than 11 hours 59 minutes. Continuous bake can be chosen in User Preferences if you want long cooks to keep going.
It runs convection with the meat probe in, starting from 325°F in the oven and 180°F at the probe. The guide says to skip preheating and use rack position 2.
Usually, yes. The oven has two halogen lights, and the guide warns not to touch the new bulb with bare fingers.
Two 9,500 BTU standard burners, a 14,000 BTU large burner, an 18,000 BTU Min-2-Max double burner and a 5,000 BTU Perfect Simmer burner. The oven also carries a glide rack sensor.

Parts and recalls

Check the back of the range: E30GF74HPS units with serials from NF83000000 to NF93633000 were in the carbon monoxide recall.
Open the door and look at the side trim inside the oven.
Only a small, steady offset. The UPO setting moves the oven up to 35°F either way, and a control reset puts it back to zero. An oven that is far colder than that, or one that drifts from day to day, has a part problem, usually the temperature sensor, an element or the control itself, and calibrating over it just hides the fault.
Yes, gas and electric ranges and cooktops as well as wall ovens.
On convection preheat the guide has the fan and all three elements cycling, so the sound is normal.
