Fisher & Paykel washing machine repair
After 100 cycles, a Fisher & Paykel front loader flashes an icon each time it powers on. That is a Drum Clean reminder, not a fault, and it stays until the cycle runs. A musty smell is the other hint.

What to try when the washer shows a number
Power off
A fault shows as a number with continuous beeping. Switch off at the wall and wait one full minute before switching back on.
Level
Check that all four feet sit firm and the machine does not rock, since leveling is one of the first things the guide names.
Rinse
Take the load out and run a Rinse on the empty drum. If it finishes cleanly, the fault may not return.
Record
If it repeats, note the code and the serial, found on the rear or above the drum opening, and then book the repair.
What the eight-year motor term counts as yours
| Problem | How the warranty classes it | What heads it off |
|---|---|---|
| Bottom packer or transit bolts left in | Installation | Take them out before the first wash |
| Machine not level | Installation | Set the feet so it cannot rock |
| Drain siphoning | Installation | A standpipe at the right height |
| Kinked or crossed inlet hoses, water hammer | Installation | Hoses run straight, hot to hot |
| Bra wires, bread tags or nails in the pump or hose filters | Owner | Empty pockets, clean the pump filter |

Will a Fisher & Paykel front loader fit the space you have?
Measure first. The WH2424F stands 33 1/2 inches high and 23 5/8 inches wide, and the gap it sits in should be 1 3/5 inches wider and 3/4 inch deeper than the machine. Its door needs at least 13 inches of swing room to any wall beside it. The drain wants a standpipe 31 1/2 to 47 1/4 inches high. Many Oahu condos hide laundry in a narrow closet, and a machine squeezed into one rubs, rocks and siphons in ways that look like part failures.
