GE Monogram range, oven and appliance repair
A Monogram griddle that seems slow to light may be working fine. It uses a hot surface igniter, not a spark, and lights about 45 seconds after the knob is set. Monogram says to preheat it 10 minutes.

Monogram range calls we see most
Monogram's pro-style ranges come as all-gas ZGP models in 30, 36 and 48 inch widths, with dual-fuel versions carrying ZDP numbers. Much of what owners report is the range working as designed.
Small flame stays on
Normal on Dual-Flame Stacked burners. The low simmer flame lights first and stays lit under the main flame.
Burner relights itself
Also by design. If a flame goes out, the burner sparks and relights on its own.
Range shifts when pulled
Each time it comes out, the rear leveling leg must slide back under the anti-tip bracket.
Oven not fully clean
Steam clean is a 30 minute cycle started with one cup of water on the oven floor, door kept shut the whole time.
Grill rangetop on LP
A 2011 recall covered Pro rangetops with grill on LP. Check the model before anything else.
Gas smell near griddle
Shut the gas off. Pro ranges with griddles built late 2005 to mid 2006 were recalled.
How a Monogram burner is meant to light
Each Dual-Flame Stacked burner has two flames, one above the other. The lower simmer flame lights first and stays on, and the main flame sits over it. Turn the knob to LITE and the burner sparks until it catches. If the flame blows out, the burner relights by itself. So constant clicking with no flame, or a burner that never holds its low flame, is worth a call. A burner that clicks once and relights after a draft is the range doing its job.
Monogram recalls in CPSC records
Monogram has its own recall history, separate from plain GE models. If your unit falls in one of these groups, the recall remedy comes before any repair.
