Maytag washer repair, read from the display
Cancel a Maytag front loader mid-spin and it shows Int while the drum winds down and the pump empties it, which Maytag says can take 20 to 30 minutes. Not every code means a broken part, so we start with what the display says.

Maytag front-load codes explained
| Code | What Maytag says | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| LOC or LC | Control Lock is on | Hold the lock button on some models, press it once on others |
| Int | The cycle was paused or canceled and the washer is winding down | Wait for the spin to stop and the water to pump out |
| rL or F34 | Items were found in the drum during Clean Washer | Empty the drum and start the cleaning cycle again |
| Sud or Sd | Too many suds; tumbling pauses and rinse water is added, maybe several times | Cut the dose; if it persists, check the drain hose and standpipe for a restriction |
| F5 E2 | The door is not locking | Press Pause or Cancel twice, then Power once |
| F7 E1 | The motor cannot reach the speed the cycle needs | Check for leftover shipping bolts and an overloaded drum |
Why Maytag's door-open advice fits Oahu homes
Maytag asks front-load owners to leave the door open between loads so leftover moisture can dry, and to pull wet clothes out promptly, because damp laundry sitting in the drum breeds mildew and odor. Lowland Oahu air is humid most of the year, so a closed, wet drum stays wet longer here. When a musty Maytag also drains slowly, we look at the pump and the hose before blaming the gasket.

Maytag F codes that point to water flow
Three of Maytag's front-load F codes come down to water getting in, moving through or getting out of the machine.
| Code | Meaning | Check first | If it comes back | Related page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| F8 E1 or LO FL | Low water flow into the washer | Both faucets fully open, fill hoses unkinked, no anti-flood hoses or controls | The inlet valve or its supply needs testing | washer repair |
| F8 E2 | A dispenser problem on select models | Clear detergent clogging the drawer or cartridge | The dispenser system needs a closer look | appliance maintenance |
| F9 E1 | Draining is taking longer than expected, typically over 8 minutes | Standpipe between 39 and 96 inches, with the U-shaped hose form in place | A blocked or failing drain pump | washer not draining |
