Dacor fridge repair for built-in French doors

A Dacor French door left in Cooling Off mode keeps its lights and fans running while the compressors sit idle, so nothing gets cold. We repair Dacor refrigerators on Oahu, and we rule out settings like that one first.

Dacor fridge behaviors that mimic a fault

Before booking, check these six. Each comes from Dacor's own user manual for the 48-inch French door, and most clear without a visit. A cabinet that is truly warm is covered on our refrigerator not cooling page.

Lit but not cooling

Cooling Off, a retail demo mode, stops the compressors. A three-button hold enters and exits it.

Settings frozen

Sabbath mode locks the temperatures and pauses the ice maker. It runs 85 hours, even through a power cut.

Weak dispenser

A clogged water filter slows the flow, often before its light has come on.

Red filter light

The water filter light blinks red after about 6 months. Hold its button 3 seconds to reset.

Deodorizer reminder

The deodorizer filter asks for a change after about 18 months, with the same 3-second reset.

Ice balls stopped

The sphere maker pauses once the bucket holds roughly 9 to 12 balls. Empty some and it restarts.

Set points

Dacor temperature ranges by compartment and mode

Compare your display with these ranges. A setting outside them, or a compartment that will not reach its number, tells us where to start.

Built-in install

Does a built-in Dacor need anti-tip brackets?

Yes, a built-in Dacor French door needs two anti-tip brackets, and they must reach at least 2 inches over the unit. The installation manual calls them mandatory. The same manual asks for a grounded 115V, 15 amp outlet and a cold water line at 30 to 120 psi. Before a big unit slides out for a repair, we confirm the brackets are there and go back in. A missing bracket gets flagged to you, not skipped.

Settings and ice

Use the same three-button hold that turned Cooling Off on; it toggles the mode back off and lets the compressors start.
Speed is the usual reason. The sphere maker forms 3 balls at a time and can be set in the app for anywhere from 3 to 9 a day. Dacor says fewer balls per day gives clearer ice. If the setting is already low and output has stopped altogether, check the bucket count, then the water supply, before calling.
No. It holds through a power cut and ends on its own after 85 hours.
Soft Freezing, at 23°F, is the coldest. Chill/Meat runs at 30°F and Cool at 41°F.
About 18 months, three times the roughly six-month life of the water filter. Each indicator resets with a 3-second hold of its own button once the new filter is in.

Install and coverage

The DRF487500AP spec sheet lists R600a, run by a digital inverter compressor, with SteelCool stainless walls inside. Sealed system work on it means handling that refrigerant correctly, which is why we ask for the model number at the first call.
Dacor built it for openings 41 1/2 inches wide by 24 inches deep, or flush in a 42 by 25-inch opening. That 2018 design used a triple cooling system on dual digital inverter compressors. Those two compressors matter on a visit, because a warm section can trace back to one system while the others keep running normally.
Yes, the evaporator is on the list with the compressor, condenser, dryer and tubing. Through year 6 that means parts and labor; years 7 to 10 cover the parts alone.
Cold water at 30 to 120 psi, according to Dacor's installation manual for this model.
A grounded 115V, 15 amp outlet, according to Dacor's installation manual for the 48-inch French door.
