ASKO washing machine repair
An ASKO washer takes only a cold supply. A 2000 W element inside heats the water itself, so a missing hot hose is normal. We repair ASKO washers on Oahu, alone or paired with the matching dryer.

What Quattro Construction means for repairs
ASKO's sheet for the W4114C.W.U lists a stainless steel inner and outer drum, a cast iron rear gable and a heavy counterweight, all aimed at low-vibration spinning. That weight is why a move needs care. ASKO says the drum must be locked with the transport rods for any move after installation, and the washer should then rest two hours before power goes on. A machine moved without its rods, or plugged in at once, can come to us with a knock that was not there before.
Six ASKO washer situations explained
Some of these are design choices that look like faults, and some point to the setup. For causes that apply to any washer, follow the problem pages further down.
No hot hose
Correct as built. The internal heater does the work, so only the cold valve feeds the machine.
Spin cut short
Unbalance detection protects the machine from heavy vibration. A lopsided load or an unlevel floor can trigger it.
Knocking after a move
The drum should travel locked with transport rods. Moving without them is a setup problem worth checking first.
Water left behind
The drain outlet belongs 24 to 36 inches above the washer's base, lower being better. Higher than 36 inches is out.
Drain pump trouble
Anti Block is ASKO's self-cleaning drain pump. If it still will not clear, the hose or coupling may be narrowed.
Drips at the door
Soap or soil on the door seal, a sleeve hanging over the drum edge, or a detergent drawer left ajar.
Why does an ASKO front loader need airing out here?
Because a closed, wet drum dries slowly in island air. Windward lowlands typically sit at 70 to 80 percent relative humidity, and most Oahu homes run without central air. The advice makers give for any front loader fits: prop the door open between loads and take wet clothes out promptly. On an ASKO, the Drum cleaning program handles the rest. Date the inlet hoses too; GE and Whirlpool both suggest new ones about every 5 years. In a stacked condo a burst hose soaks the unit below, and EPA says to dry spills within 24 to 48 hours.

An ASKO washer alone or under its dryer
| Item | Washer on its own | Washer with an ASKO dryer |
|---|---|---|
| Power | Its own 208 to 240 V single-phase circuit, NEMA 6-20R | Plugs into the receptacle on the dryer |
| What may sit on top | Nothing, not even a counter load | Only an ASKO dryer |
| Under a counter | 34 to 35 inch counter, about 1/2 inch clear all round, opening at least 24 1/2 inches wide | Not stacked under a counter |
| Closet | Door stays open while it runs | Same rule, plus the dryer's venting needs |
