Amana repair for fridges, laundry and ranges
Amana is a town before it is a brand. CPSC notices from 1977 and 1978 name the maker as Amana Refrigeration, Inc., of Amana, Iowa, and Whirlpool Corporation still keeps a site there. We repair Amana refrigerators, dryers, washers and ranges across Oahu.

Amana appliances, and where each one goes wrong
Amana's name is on fridges, laundry, ranges and even room air conditioners. Here is what we know about each, and where to read more.
| Appliance | Amana detail | Owner check | Book a visit when | More detail |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Refrigerator | Side-by-sides were behind the 1977 and 1994 recalls | Match the model and serial against the notices below | One section runs warm or a handle gives a tingle | Amana refrigerator repair |
| Washer | Amana publishes separate top-load and front-load code lists | Write down the code before cutting power | A code returns on a normal load | Amana washer repair |
| Dryer | Gets the same vent and heat checks as any dryer | Clean the lint screen and feel the outside vent hood | The drum turns but stays cold | dryer not heating |
| Gas range | Two past recalls involved self-clean | Read the model number before running self-clean | The oven will not light or the door lock misbehaves | gas oven will not light |
| Room air conditioner | Made by a different company, Daikin | Model numbers starting PB, AH or AE | Follow the Daikin recall notice first | recalls and warranty repair |
Is an Amana air conditioner from the same company?
No. Amana-branded room air conditioners and through-the-wall heat pumps come from Daikin, a different company from the one behind Amana fridges and laundry. A CPSC notice dated June 25, 2026, from Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, covered about 13,514 Amana window and through-the-wall units with model numbers starting PB, AH or AE. The fault: the heating element could stay energized during a ground fault. If you own one, follow that notice. It has nothing to do with an Amana washer or refrigerator in the same house.
