Wolf oven repair, series by series
A Wolf E Series oven switches itself off after 12 hours of continuous use, unless it is in Dehydration or Sabbath. Some Wolf behaviors are designed in and some are faults. We sort out which on Oahu service calls.

Wolf oven messages and what they mean
Several things that look like faults on a Wolf wall oven are written into its guide as normal. These six come up most. For an oven that simply will not heat, start with the general causes.
PROBE SHORTED
The temperature probe plug is not pushed fully into its receptacle. Reseat it before calling.
Popping at preheat
Banging while heating or cooling is described as normal expansion of a new cavity.
Door stays locked
After an E Series self-clean, the door will not release until the cavity falls below 300°F.
F1 on L Series
The lock or unlock switch was not sensed within 60 seconds of the lock motor running, or a slammed door changed its state mid-cook.
Shut off mid-cook
Twelve hours of continuous use triggers the automatic shutoff, outside Dehydration and Sabbath.
Racks discolored
Racks and rack guides left inside during self-clean discolor. They need to come out first.

Should a new Wolf oven smoke the first time?
Yes, some smoke and odor during the first burn-in is expected on an E Series. Wolf's steps are to wash the cavity, run Roast at 550°F for one hour with the kitchen ventilation on, then let the oven cool with the door closed. Smoke that keeps appearing on later bakes is a different matter, and so is a burning electrical smell. Note the mode and temperature when it happens, and book a look.
