Why one side of a Kenmore can warm alone

On the four-door 46-75685, separate evaporators cool the fresh food and freezer sections, so humidity and odors stay apart. It also means one section can lose cooling while the other holds, and the fault sits on that side's own coil or fan. Check the FlexSpace middle drawer before calling, too. It switches between refrigerator and freezer use, and a drawer freezing lettuce may just be set wrong. A fan that roars after a grocery run is often Accela Chill or Accela Freeze, a short boost of cold air.

Filters, ice and features

Kenmore lists its own by number: 9081, 9083, 9085 and 9130. The 9085 replaces 9010 and KEDR5RXD1, and the 9130 replaces 60199-0006802-00, so an old number on your cartridge can still lead to the current one.

ENERGY STAR lists bottom-freezer 897.75515320 at 539 kWh a year against a federal limit of 622, the 28.9 cubic foot 405.7562 / 46-75625 family at 743 against 816, and top-freezer 899.6133 at 385 against 429. At Hawaii's 48.00 cents per kWh in July 2026, a unit drifting well past its listing from a weak fan or a tired gasket costs more here than on the mainland.
